These terms cover using LolBoard: listing a site, bidding for a top spot, and what we will and will not do about either. Using the board means you accept them.
You must be at least 16 and able to enter a contract where you live. Bidding requires a Google sign-in, and you are responsible for anything done through your account.
Listing is free. The site must be publicly reachable when you submit it, must meet the listing rules, and must be one you own or are authorised to list. Any public domain qualifies. Each website may be listed once — www.example.com and example.com are the same site for this purpose.
When you submit, we fetch the page once to read its title, description and favicon, and display them on your row. You confirm you have the right to have that content shown here.
Listings cannot currently be edited or self-deleted through the site. Email hello@lolboard.lol for a correction or a removal.
No malware, phishing, or anything that exists to compromise the people who click it. No content that is illegal where we operate, sexual content involving minors, or material that incites violence against people. No impersonating a site or brand that is not yours.
No parked domains, redirect chains that lead nowhere useful, or listings whose only purpose is to occupy a row. The board is for sites people can visit. The listing rules are the full list.
Listing is free, and a new listing goes to the last position on the board. Free listings are ordered by when they were listed, and no payment reorders them.
Only #1 is for sale. The board is ranked by standing bid — the amount a site currently has on the table, not its lifetime spend — and to take the top spot you must bid at least $1.00 more than whoever holds it. Bids run from $1.00 to $1,000,000.00, and no two paid sites can tie.
When you start a checkout, #1 is reserved for 5 minutes so nobody can buy it while you pay. The bid is recorded only once payment is confirmed. Abandon the checkout and the hold expires, the top spot returns to the market, and you are charged nothing.
The top spot is not a lease and has no term. Anyone may outbid you at any moment, and the ranking will change without notice when they do. Buying #1 buys you #1 until someone pays more — nothing else.
Bids are one-off payments taken through Polar, our merchant of record. There is no subscription and nothing renews. Their terms apply to the transaction itself.
Bids are final and non-refundable once the payment is confirmed and the bid is recorded, including when you are outbid shortly afterwards. Being outbid is the product working, not a fault.
We do refund in full if we take your money and fail to place the bid, or if we remove your listing for a reason that turns out to be our mistake. Statutory rights you have that cannot be waived are unaffected by anything on this page.
Click counts are a best-effort measure of outbound traffic. We skip what we can recognise as bots and preview fetches and deduplicate rapid repeat visits, which means the number is an honest approximation rather than an audited figure. It is offered as information, not as a guarantee of traffic, and clicks never affect ranking.
Deliberately inflating a click count — scripted clicking, click farms, or paying for traffic that is not real — is grounds for removal without a refund.
We may remove or suspend a listing that breaks these terms, that stops resolving, or that we are legally required to take down. Where the breach is clear-cut and harmful we will act first and explain afterwards.
A listing removed for breaking these terms is not refunded. One removed through no fault of yours is.
LolBoard is provided as-is. We do not promise the board will be available uninterrupted, that scraped titles and descriptions are accurate, or that a listing will produce any particular amount of traffic or revenue.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. We are not liable for lost profits or lost business.
You keep all rights to your site and its content. By listing, you give us permission to display your domain, title, description and favicon on the board and in links to it, for as long as the listing is up.
Everything else on this site — the board, the design, the name — is ours. Do not scrape it wholesale or republish it as your own.
We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page tracks the current version. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to a bid you have already placed. Continuing to use the board after a change means you accept the updated terms.
